Perplexity launches Enterprise Max for businesses
Perplexity introduces Enterprise Max, a business plan costing $325 per user per month with unlimited queries in Research and Labs, advanced models, and more file capacity. It also adds security controls for the entire organization, including audits, identity management, and usage analytics, without requiring a minimum of 50 users.
Perplexity has launched Enterprise Max, a business plan that combines unlimited access to its most advanced tools with security and administrative controls for the entire organization. It costs $325 per user per month, compared with $40 for Enterprise Pro.
The plan addresses a specific problem: some employees already use Perplexity's most powerful features, but IT teams need to control who has access, how the tool is used, and how data is managed.
What's included with Enterprise Max
The plan offers unlimited monthly use of the Research and Labs features. Research prepares detailed reports on complex topics and can compile more than 100 citations, while Labs analyzes data, creates visualizations, and builds web applications from an idea.
In practice, a finance team could research a market, cross-reference internal reports with information from the web, and turn the results into a data dashboard without running out of queries along the way.
It also includes access to advanced models such as o3-pro and Opus 4.1 Thinking, designed for tasks that require more reasoning, strategic analysis, or technical problem-solving.
Users browsing with Comet, Perplexity's browser, will also be able to use the Max assistant from the browser's sidebar.
More room for documents and video generation
Enterprise Max increases file capacity to 10,000 documents in the workspace and 5,000 in Spaces. By comparison, the Pro plan allows 500 files in the workspace and 5,000 in Spaces.
This lets teams upload entire project libraries, search through large document collections, and combine those files with web searches. Its usefulness depends on how well the company organizes its information, but the limit is no longer the main obstacle for teams with large volumes of material.
The plan also allows users to create up to 15 videos per month with Veo 3, with improvements in resolution and audio. Perplexity positions the feature for executive presentations, client materials, and internal training.
Security for the entire organization
One of the most significant changes is in administration. Previously, Perplexity required a minimum of 50 users to activate its premium security features. With Enterprise Max, having one Max user is enough for the organization to access:
- Audit logs.
- SCIM integration, which makes it easier to manage users and permissions from the company's identity systems.
- Configurable data retention.
- Real-time usage analytics.
Perplexity says Enterprise Max maintains its SOC 2 Type II compliance standards, an external audit related to a technology provider's security and data management controls.
Pricing and availability
Enterprise Max has been available since September 17, 2025, for $325 per user per month or $3,250 per year. Enterprise Pro remains priced at $40 per month or $400 per year.
An organization can combine both plans and reserve Max for people who conduct research, analysis, or content creation intensively. It also includes early access to new features, premium data sources, and products announced by Perplexity, such as its future email assistant.
For you, this means Perplexity is no longer selling only an AI search tool. It is offering a more complete platform for internal work. The question is whether unlimited use and administrative controls justify a price difference of more than eight times compared with Enterprise Pro. Companies will have to measure that through specific tasks, not just the promise of access to more capable models.
