Grok launches Skills to create documents with AI
Grok adds Skills to `Grok 4.3`, a feature that remembers preferences, formats and workflows so you can reuse them in future conversations. It can already create and edit documents, presentations, spreadsheets and PDFs on the web, iOS and Android. You can customize skills by describing them in the chat, uploading a file or saving an existing workflow.
Grok can now remember how you want to work and apply those rules in future conversations through a new feature called Skills. The tool is available in Grok 4.3 on the web, iOS and Android.
The idea is simple: teach Grok your preferences, the format you use or the steps in a process once, and the system saves them as a reusable skill. That way, you do not have to explain again that an invoice must include certain fields, a presentation needs speaker notes or a report must follow a specific template.
What Grok can do with Skills
Grok accounts include skills created by xAI, with no setup required. You can also modify them or replace them with your own versions. Your settings always take priority over the original.
Available features include:
- Create and edit
.docxdocuments with titles, tables, lists and consistent styles. - Generate presentations from scratch, with visual hierarchy and speaker notes.
- Create spreadsheets with formulas, distinct sections and data analysis.
- Create, combine, split and extract content from PDF files.
- Design new skills by describing them in a conversation or uploading a reference file.
In practice, you can ask it to prepare a business invoice with taxes and payment terms, a presentation for a quarterly review or a spreadsheet to track monthly income, expenses and savings. Grok generates files ready to share in formats such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF.
You can also upload an existing file and ask it to reorganize, review or expand it. For example, a business proposal template can become a skill that always preserves the same design and structure.
How these skills are created
No programming is required. You can describe the workflow directly in the chat, attach a document or ask Grok to save what it has just learned as a skill.
This is useful when you repeat tasks frequently: preparing reports with a template, turning data into a monthly budget or drafting contracts with specific sections. The goal is to move from giving complete instructions in every conversation to setting them up once.
The feature has been available since May 18, 2026 at grok.com, on iOS and Android, for users of Grok 4.3.
