Grok launches Build Mode to create AI-powered apps
xAI has introduced Build Mode, a Grok feature that creates apps, games and prototypes from written instructions. It is available in early beta to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers on the web, iOS and Android, with the option to publish projects through a link.

The process is simple: describe what you want to create, and Grok builds a first version in the chat. You can then request specific changes, such as adjusting the design, adding a feature or completely changing the visual style.
For example, you could write: “Create a 3D driving game through an endless forest, with no missions or timers, and a calm feel.” Build Mode generates a playable version from that instruction.
From idea to shareable link
Once the result is ready, you can publish it to a grok.me link so other people can open it in their browser. You can also connect it to an existing custom domain and share it with a team, clients or anyone else.
You do not need to install tools, configure a development environment or touch the code. You can if you want to, but it is not necessary to create and publish the project.
That places Grok within a trend that is already changing how software is created: describing the result in everyday language and letting AI handle much of the technical construction. The difference will come down to what each project can actually do outside a demo and how much control it offers over the final result.
Who can use it
Build Mode is available today in early beta, but access is limited to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers. To try it, open grok.com or the Grok app on iOS and Android, then select “Build” in the mode selector.
The feature does not automatically turn every description into a complete product. At this stage, its clearest use is creating prototypes, simple games, interactive pages and small tools that you can review and improve through successive instructions.
