Grok arrives in Outlook as an AI assistant
Grok is now available inside Outlook for paid X and SuperGrok users. The add-in summarizes threads, drafts replies, organizes your inbox, and checks attachments, the web, and X, but it does not send messages without your approval.

Grok can now work inside Microsoft Outlook: it summarizes long conversations, drafts replies in your style, and helps organize your inbox without making you switch applications.
The new add-in places the agent next to your inbox. If you open a thread that has been growing all week, you can ask it to explain what happened. Grok identifies decisions that were made, who is responsible for each task, and which issues are still waiting for your response.
It can also review several recent messages at once to bring order to your inbox. Based on their content, it archives finished conversations, marks irrelevant email as junk, and flags messages that need a reply.
What Grok can do in Outlook
The assistant can:
- Summarize long threads and extract decisions, owners, and outstanding tasks.
- Draft replies from a few words.
- Create new messages from scratch and adjust the subject line, recipients, or tone.
- Read attachments included in emails.
- Search the web and X without leaving Outlook.
- Organize recent messages by archiving closed conversations and detecting junk mail.
Its writing aims to follow the way you write. You can ask for a shorter reply, a warmer tone, or a more direct subject line before sending it.
There is one important limit: Grok does not send messages on its own. You have to review the draft and click the send button. That keeps final control in your hands, especially when the reply includes sensitive information or is addressed to several people.
Who can use it
Grok for Outlook is a Microsoft 365 add-in available today to users with a paid X or SuperGrok subscription. It is installed through Microsoft Marketplace and works directly inside your Outlook inbox.
The integration is part of a broader offering: Grok is also available as an add-in for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. In those programs, it can help you work with documents, spreadsheets, and presentations without opening a separate tool.
For you, the most practical change is less repetitive email work: quickly understanding a conversation, finding what matters among dozens of messages, and preparing a reply without starting from a blank page. What you need to watch is how you review its summaries and drafts: Grok's ability to read attachments and search the web makes the assistant more useful, but it also makes it more important to check what information it used before you send anything.
