Google launches Dreambeans, a personalized AI app

Google introduces Dreambeans, an experimental app that uses data from Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube, and search to create personalized stories and recommendations. It is initially available to Google AI Ultra subscribers over 18 in the United States, with controls for choosing which apps to connect.

Google has introduced Dreambeans, an experimental app that uses artificial intelligence to turn your own digital data into personalized stories, recommendations, and small ideas for your day. The goal is not to offer you an endless feed, but a limited selection of content connected to what matters to you.

How Dreambeans works

The app combines information from your Google services, always with your permission. It can access data from Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube, and your search history to identify relevant topics, plans, or interests.

For example, if Gmail confirms that you received food for your puppy and Calendar shows that a friend is coming to visit, Dreambeans can create a story with dog-training tips and recommend nearby pet-friendly restaurants.

Each story includes its own illustration, generated to reflect the people and places that appear frequently in your life. Google says it uses capabilities such as Personal Intelligence, which connects information across its products, and Nano Banana 2, its image-generation technology.

From a story to a plan

Dreambeans does not stop at showing you a recommendation. You can tap a story to explore it further and ask for additional information from the web, such as nearby dog parks or puppy-training classes.

You can also save your favorite stories to a library and correct the suggestions. If a recommendation does not fit, your feedback helps adjust future ones. And if the app misses an important interest, such as a new hobby, you can tell it so it takes that into account later.

The idea is for AI to move from reacting to your queries to suggesting connections between things you already do. In practice, that could turn a purchase confirmation, a calendar appointment, and a recent search into a useful plan for the weekend.

You decide what information to use

Dreambeans needs at least one connected app to work, although Google says it delivers better results when you activate several. You can choose which ones to link and which ones to leave out.

The company says the privacy decisions you make in Dreambeans are independent of the ones you configure for Personal Intelligence in other products, such as Gemini or AI Mode. That means allowing access in this app does not automatically change your permissions in other services.

Dreambeans begins rolling out on June 3, 2026 to eligible Google AI Ultra subscribers over 18 in the United States, on both Android and iOS. Other users can join a waitlist with a personal Google Account.

The important question will be whether these connections prove genuinely useful or become another form of personalized noise. Dreambeans proposes an AI that selects less content, but to do that, it needs to know much more about your digital life.
